Ministry of Justice criminal record checks — coming soon
Once FIDES is registered with the Ministry of Justice, you'll be able to request checks through us, with the worker's request-specific consent handled in the same flow. A Ministry of Justice criminal record check is not an NZ Police vet. On its own it doesn't meet the Children's Act 2014 safety-check requirements for children's workers.
Part of your safety check
FIDES provides four of the seven parts of a children's worker safety check under the Children's Act 2014: identity, work history, professional registration and references. The interview, Police vet and risk assessment stay with you.
How it will work when we open

Register and get verified
Create an account and give us your NZBN. We confirm your organisation, usually the same day.

Find a worker
Search by exact legal name and date of birth. A match confirms the worker has a verified FIDES profile, and nothing more. Engaged someone who isn't on FIDES yet? Add them — we'll tell them you did.
- 03
Ask, check, and give back
Ask the worker's permission. With their yes and an active Hiring Pass, you see their reference history. Your HR subscription covers the workers already on your team. Then answer a few standard questions about the people you've employed, so the next employer benefits too.
